Definitely not. When tallow is properly rendered and filtered, it retains very little, if any, scent. When combined with organic olive oil like ours is, the result is a moisturizer with a very neutral, clean scent that is extremely faint. No steak smell here!

Your tallow moisturizer should be stored at room temperature for the best consistency. It will be good for about 12-18 months, but we'll be surprised if you don't use it all before then!

This is completely normal and can easily be changed. Our tallow balm is completely natural and unlike mainstream moisturizers, it does not contain any ingredients that will stabilize its consistency over a wide range of temperatures. This means that the texture and firmness of your tallow can vary greatly depending on its temperature. If your tallow is too hard, move it somewhere warmer in your house and check back after a few hours. It will get softer as it gets warmer.
